An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 13 7/8" x 21 7/8" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) A Hero of the Big Snows, the 1926 Herman C. Raymaker silent canine German Shepherd dog trapper adventure thriller ("Story and scenario by Ewart Adamson") starring Rin Tin Tin (most famous of the movie dog stars, he was Warner Bros.' #1 star in their early lean years and the earnings from his movies kept the studio in the black!; "The Wonder Dog"), Alice Calhoun (billed as "with Alice Calhoun"), Don Alvarado, Leo Willis, and Mary Jane Milliken NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that poster material from this movie is incredibly rare (this is the very first poster or lobby card we have ever had from it!). In addition, it was quite common for Rin Tin Tin to be small or even missing on many of the posters for his films, and yet his image dominates this poster, and he is credited above the title. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. UPDATED 09/04/2012: Note that we have updated the measurements. It is possible that this window card has had a very slight amount trimmed from the borders but it is also possible that it was sent to theaters this way. Except for the "Made in U.S.A." in the lower-right corner, only blank white border is affected. Condition: very good. The card was in a frame and there are a few water stains around the edges and the back has darkened. There are tiny indentations and stains around the edges of the back of the card (around 1" apart), from where the card was held into a frame with nails, but they have almost zero effect on the front. Other than the above, the card is in nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
