An Original Vintage Theatrical Paperbacked Movie Title Lobby Card (LC TC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Fashions of 1934, the 1934 William Dieterle fashion designer romantic musical comedy ("The screen's first laugh extravaganza - songs & music"; "Warner Bros' fashion extravaganza with music"; about a fashion designer who goes to high class French fashion shows and photographs the latest fashions with a hidden camera so that he can make cheap knock-offs of them, and he ends up putting on his own fashion show) starring William Powell, Bette Davis, Frank McHugh, Hugh Herbert, Verree Teasdale, and Reginald Owen. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a heavy paper backing (acid-free), that is similar in feel to that of the original lobby card (except somewhat heavier). It is a similar process to linenbacking, except that most collectors use linenbacking for one-sheets and paperbacking for half-sheets, inserts, window cards, and lobby cards. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. Prior to paperbacking, the card was in MUCH lesser condition. It had much staining throughout, with many border defects. Overall, the lobby card was in poor to fair condition prior to paperbacking. The card has had substantial restoration, and the pink and yellow solid colors in the center of the card have been painted over entirely. The card displays fairly well, given the extensive restoration, but you can still clearly tell that it has had much restoration, especially when viewed close up, so bear this in mind before placing a bid in this extremely rare lobby card.
