An Unfolded Japanese Travel Poster (measures 21" x 30 1/2" [53 x 77 cm]) (Learn More) Kansai Kisen was a Japanese shipping company that operated passenger liners and ferries in the Seto Island Sea of Japan from 1942 to 2011. A knowledgeable collector tells us that this poster is advertising the debut of their new ship Murasaki Maru in 1960. It was put into service on September 14th and traveled between the mainland Kansai (Osaka & Kobe) to Shikoku (Takamatsu) and Kyushu (Beppu). The poster shows the time table in the bottom right corner. The Murasaki Maru was retired in 1980. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
