An Original Vintage Theatrical Stage Show Window Card Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More)

Mississippi Show Boat Four, the 1934 local theater window card ("Extra special!"; "Famous radio stars"; "You've never heard such harmony") advertising a musical troupe and featuring art by Ken Wagner. We found reference on the Internet to this musical group performing on Al Jolson's radio program in 1934, and the day and month on the card correlate to 1934, so that certainly helps to date this card. The group also appeared in vaudeville and was a live show playing at movie theaters between movies. We don't know for certain if the performers were black African Americans or if they were white singers in blackface. If anyone knows more about this poster or this group, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
