Date Sold 7/23/2015 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 2 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 10 1/4" x 13 1/4" [26 x 34 cm]) (Learn More) Comet Over Broadway, the 1938 Busby Berkeley New York City stage acting theater romantic love triangle family relationship melodrama (a wacky melodrama of a woman who wants to be an actress, and her jealous husband kills a fellow actor and goes to jail for it, leaving her to raise her infant daughter, and she becomes a major star, but is conflicted with her new love and her obligation to her jailed husband!) starring Kay Francis, Ian Hunter, John Litel, Donald Crisp, Minna Gombell, and Dudley Dickerson. Note that it seems especially odd that while this was a Warner Bros. movie directed by Busby Berkeley about Broadway stage acting, it is not a musical (except for background music). Important Added Info: Note that these lobby cards have been trimmed and they now measure 10 1/4" x 13 1/4" [26 x 34 cm]. Condition: good. The cards have been trimmed around the edges. Each has a small tear with some tiny paper loss in the center left edge. Both have darkened with age (typical of "linen" cards of this time period). The card pictured at top has a crease with some paper loss in the right blue border, and the card below it has tiny pinholes in the lower edges and a 1/2" tear in the lower left edge. Overall, given their age, they are in pretty nice condition but please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid.
