An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Damon Runyon's Little Miss Marker, the 1934 Alexander Hall horse racing gambling romantic tough-guy-whose-heart-melts-because-of-a-little-girl melodrama ("She made these mugs believe in fairies!"; based on the story by Damon Runyon; about a gambler who leaves his young daughter with another gambler as "collateral" on his debt, and then doesn't come back to get her, and the gambler who is "stuck" with the girl grows to love her; this contained a break-out performance by Shirley Temple, who stole the movie at the age of six!) starring Adolphe Menjou (as Sorrowful Jones), Dorothy Dell, Charles Bickford, Shirley Temple, Warren Hymer, and Lynne Overman. This movie co-starred Dorothy Dell in a prominent role. This actress appeared to be on the verge of major stardom, but the following year, she was killed in a car accident, and she was just 19 (click on her name to read more about her). Note that this movie was remade as "Forty Pounds of Trouble" and under the original title of "Little Miss Marker", but without another Shirley Temple, they did not have much success. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
