Popeye, the spinach eating super strong sailor character created by Elzie Crisler Segar in 1929, and who has appeared in many theatrical and television (TV) animated cartoons, comic strips, and movies. He was portrayed by Robin Williams in the 1980 movie Popeye AND Olive Oyl, the skinny cartoon character created by Elzie Crisler Segar in 1919 (a full ten years before the creation of Popeye) and who has appeared in many theatrical and television (TV) animated cartoons, comic strips, and movies usually as the love interest of Popeye. She was portrayed by Shelly Duval in the 1980 movie Popeye
Important Added Info: Note that this item (which is in a triple mat that can be opened up to see the cel inside) has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH animator Dan Hunn AND animator Ron Fritz! Also note that this animation cel comes with a "certificate of authenticity" from Gallery Lainzberg, plus a sticker from the gallery (intended to be attached to the back of the mat or frame).

Note that this is one of thirteen excellent animation cels we have been consigned. In 2012, we held a special auction of animation cels, and our consignor purchased these thirteen from that auction and has now reconsigned them to us 11 years later. This is a rare opportunity to purchase these nice animation cels, which may not be offered again for many years, if ever!

Condition: very good to fine.
