An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) The Catman of Paris, the 1946 Lesley Selander France crime mystery feline cat monster horror thriller (about an author who goes to France at the turn of the century, and as soon as he arrives, savage killings from a "cat-like creature" start, and he has mysterious blackouts that make him an extreme suspect, but all is cleared up at the end of this 60-minute movie!) starring Carl Esmond, Lenore Aubert, Adele Mara, Douglass Dumbrille, Gerald Mohr, Fritz Feld, and Robert J. Wilke (uncredited in the title role as The Catman) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair. The poster had much paint writing on the back, and it bled through to the front in many areas. It also had small paper loss at the crossfolds and some fold and border wear. Overall, the poster was in poor to fair condition prior to linenbacking. Given this really major defect, the restorer did a pretty good job, and you don't immediately notice the bleed-through in the light colored areas, but it is a substantial defect, so please bear this in mind before bidding on this poster. Note that either the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster, or possibly the owner of the poster chose to carefully trim off the excess, so that the poster would fit in a frame.
