An Original Vintage Theatrical Jumbo Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 17" x 26" [43 x 66 cm]) (Learn More) Stella Dallas, the classic 1937 King Vidor rich-man-marries-low-class-woman romantic family relationship melodrama ("Who says I'm not fit to be a mother?"; "They called her vulgar... cheap... You'll call her Magnificent!"; "From the novel by Olive Higgins Prouty"; about a trampy woman who gives up her child so she will have a better life with her rich father) starring Barbara Stanwyck (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role as Stella Dallas), John Boles, Anne Shirley (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Alan Hale Sr., Barbara O'Neil, Marjorie Main, and Edmund Elton NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this 17" x 26" local theater window card was created by the Smith & Setron Prtg. Co. of Cleveland, Ohio when the movie first came out. It is on similar paper stock to the regular jumbo window cards that were created at this time, but they were created for a specific theater. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Some of these items can ONLY be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. On some of them (for example f it is a size that might ordinarily be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet), the reason it is in this auction is specifically because we feel it either CAN'T be rolled or because we feel it would be a mistake to roll it, because it might well damage the item. In the case of the few items that could be rolled, we will roll the item in a tube if the new owner insists, but only if they accept that they can't return the item if it is damaged from being rolled. So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. Condition: poor to fair. The card is stained throughout and has tiny paper loss and surface paper loss around the edges. Obviously, this poster can be restored, but bear in mind its condition and the cost of restoration before placing a bid. Learn More about condition grades
