An Original Vintage Standee (measures 13 3/4" x 21 1/2" [35 x 55 cm]) (Learn More) True Confessions, the 1930s magazine sold to the public. Each issue had a full-color cover of a movie star with a few "feature" stories about current movie stars, but the bulk of each magazine was its "True Love Romances", which were stories aimed at housewives. There were also some regular features about makeup, cooking, and other issues of importance to housewives and single women. Also, in every issue are many wonderful vintage ads, and sometimes the ads can be just as much fun as the original stories and pictures. Of course, some of the ads are from movies that were about to open, and in the early days of eBay, people would remove those full-page ads and auction them by themselves, and they would often sell for $10, $20, or more, just for a single movie ad removed from a magazine just like this! Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this cool standee, which is printed on a heavy stock and can't possibly be rolled. It has its original standee backing. It would have been sent to drugstores or newsstands to display, and to increase sales of the magazines. Condition: good to very good. There is some wear around the edges, but it seems remarkable to us that this standee survived, especially given that it has a die-cut piece at top. Learn More about condition grades
