R64 Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Ed Begley was an actor from the 1950s to the 1970s. Some of his movies include: 12 Angry Men, The Dunwich Horror, Hang 'Em High, Sweet Bird Of Youth (winner of the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film), and The Unsinkable Molly Brown. He originated the role of Matthew Harrison Brady in Inherit the Wind on Broadway (opposite Paul Muni), but both actors were passed over when the play was filmed. He was the father of the very successful TV actor, Ed Begley Jr. He passed away in 1970 at the age of 69.
