An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) The Women, the classic 1939 George Cukor female feminism romantic love triangle marriage divorce comedy ("It's all about men!!!"; "Stage hit now a screen sensation"; "The year's most uproarious comedy sensation!"; "From the play by Claire Boothe"; "By arrangement with Max Gordon Plays and Pictures Corporation"; about a group of women who are connected by the men in their lives; according to IMDB, F. Scott Fitzgerald was an uncredited writer for this film; the "gimmick" of the movie is that not one man appears throughout the entire movie!) starring Norma Shearer, Joan Crawford, Rosalind Russell, Mary Boland, Paulette Goddard, Phyllis Povah, Joan Fontaine, Virginia Weidler, Lucile Watson, Ruth Hussey, Hedda Hopper, and Florence Nash NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the still shows a wonderful candid image of director George Cukor giving Mary Boland advice, while most of the rest of the cast looks on. Also note that a paper snipe was glued to the back of the still, and then folded over to the front. Normally, this was done rather than gluing the snipe to the back, so that the snipe could be unfolded and the still could be displayed with the snipe unfolded, which would let moviegoers read the information on the snipe in the lobby. However, this snipe was glued on so that the written portion is only readable when the snipe is folded over the bottom of the still, which slightly defeats this purpose (although one can see the top of the still and the snipe at the same time, which could not be done if the snipe was glued on the back). This was done with many stills of the 1930s, but often, the snipes are either partially or completely lost, because it is easier for them to be torn off. UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED, THE SNIPE DOES NOT HAVE ANY EFFECT ON THE FRONT OF THE STILL! Note that there is also information about the still printed on the back. Condition: good to very good. There is a slightly diagonal horizontal crease going across the bottom 2" of the still. There are a very few faint emulsion scuffs scattered around the edges of the still, but they are truthfully not at all noticeable except when the still is tilted to the light.
