An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded French Two-Panel "Double Grande" Movie Poster (2p; measures 62 1/2" x 92 1/4" [159 x 234 cm]; printed in 2 pieces) (Learn More)

Cendrillon (literally translates to "Cinderella"), the 1922 Charles Maudru French silent romantic fairy tale fantasy melodrama starring Georges Lannes, Simone Sandre, and Berthe Jalabert. Note that the Cinderella fairy tale is virtually "as old as time", and there have been adaptations with and without using the name for hundreds of years. Apparently, 1922 was a big year for Cinderella movies, because there was this movie, a German animated short, and one of the very first Walt Disney Laugh-O-Gram cartoons! We know there was a 1914 American short starring Mary Pickford, and of course, there were later versions than this, including the Walt Disney feature. We found the above cast and director information for this movie on IMDb, but could find no other information about this version. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Artist: Andre Felix Roberty
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare pre-World War II French poster, which we have only auctioned one before! Virtually no French posters survive from before, during, or right after World War II. Apparently there were many paper shortages in France during World War II, resulting in the destruction of almost all pre-World War II posters!

Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this French movie! Also note that this French two-panel was printed in 2 sections designed to overlap.

Condition: good. The paper is fragile and there are tears and small paper loss on parts of the folds and borders. There are some small clear tape repairs on the back.
