An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Rags, the 1915 James Kirkwood silent family relationship romantic melodrama (based on the novel "by Edith Barnard Delano"; about a girl who is the ward of a rich man, and she becomes pregnant by a scoundrel, and she dies giving birth to a daughter, who grows up to be a tomboy known as Rags, with both mother and daughter played by Mary Pickford; after many adventures, she ends up rich and married) starring Mary Pickford (in the title role as Rags; billed as "In one of her greatest characterizations"), Marshall Neilan, Joseph Manning, and J. Farrell MacDonald. Note that this is one of the movies created during the time when Paramount Pictures was first beginning! At that time, it was solely a loose connection between top studios, who distributed together, and their films were noted as being "released on the Paramount Program". This one was produced by Daniel Frohman for the Famous Players Film Co., which the President of which was Adolph Zukor, who would soon become the President of Paramount Pictures once it became a regular corporation. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: fair. There is a semi-circular crack in the back pane of glass that extends into the right of the image. The tape is missing from parts of the borders. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Learn More about condition grades
