An Original Vintage Unfolded German World War I Poster (measures 12" x 16 3/4" [30 x 43 cm]) (Learn More)

Wir Sollen Auch das Leben fur die Bruder Lassen (literally translates to "We Ought To Lay Down Our Lives For The Brethren"), the 1915 German World War I (WWI) poster with a quote from the Bible (from 1 John 3:16 - "and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren." -King James Bible) and featuring Emil Doepler art of an angel attending to a dying German soldier. Below is a fill-in-the-blank section which translates to "To the memory of ... He died for the Fatherland on ... " and the facsimile signature of Kaiser Wilhelm II. This poster was used after a German soldier died in battle, and it was filled out and sent to the wife or parents of the fallen soldier!

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. There are some creases scattered throughout. There is some water staining on the back of the poster, but it does not affect the front.
