An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 45 pages) (Learn More) The Woman in Green, the 1945 Roy William Neill detective crime mystery thriller ("From her Lips - poison that bred Murder!"; "Lips that made men forget everything!"; "Temptress of pleasure or mistress of murder?"; "In her eyes- a dark madness that drove men to her arms!"; "Based on the Characters Created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle") starring Basil Rathbone (as Sherlock Holmes), Nigel Bruce (as Doctor Watson), Hillary Brooke (in the title role as the woman in green), Paul Cavanagh, Henry Daniell (as Professor Moriarty), Eve Amber, Sally Shepherd, and Matthew Boulton (as Inspector Gregson) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the revised draft from January 4, 1945 and the screenplay was written by Bertram Millhauser. IMPORTANT! Only the first 45 pages of the script are present. However, it also has many penciled revisions throughout that are from the screenwriter Bertram Millhauser, making creative changes to the script! Also note that the script has the working title "Invitation to Death", but the movie ultimately was called "The Woman in Green". Note that this script has "Marion Pecht" (the secretary in charge of Universal's script files) written in the top right of the cover in pencil. Also, note that this was right after World War II and there were apparently paper shortages, because the back cover of the script is a reused front cover from an older script (they simply put a line through the older title and attached it to the back of this script). Apparently, heavier paper stock was REALLY difficult to find at this time (and both covers have paper loss around the edges, so they weren't the best of paper to begin with!).
UPDATED 09/08/2015: Note that we have updated the Condition Grade and the Important Added Info section. Condition: fair. The script only has the first 45 pages. The cover has paper loss around the edges, as does the back cover (something to do with the odd paper stock they used). The interior pages are in pretty nice condition. Note that we have photographed the cover of the script, the title page, the final page of the script (the one that reads "THE END"), and one or more interior pages. These images will not only provide important information about the script, but they also allow you to closely judge the condition of the script. Learn More about condition grades
