An Original Vintage English Movie Trade Ad (measures 11 1/4" x 17" [29 x 43 cm]; 2 pages) (Learn More) The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, the classic 1962 John Ford romantic love triangle taming-of-the-West cowboy western ("Together for the First Time"; "Four-time Academy Award winner John Ford brings the American frontier to heroic life again!"; "Screenplay by James Warner Bellah and Willis Goldbeck"; "James Stewart John Wayne in the masterpiece of four-time Academy Award winner John Ford"; about an eastern lawyer who goes out west and finds it completely lawless, and the town is terrorized by a remarkably bad man, but the lawyer, aided by a local man, succeeds in bringing law to the town) starring James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; as Ransom Stoddard), John Wayne (as Tom Doniphon), Vera Miles (as Hallie Stoddard), Lee Marvin (in the title role as Liberty Valance), Edmond O'Brien (as Dutton Peabody), Andy Devine (as Marshall Link Appleyard), Ken Murray (as Doc Willoughby), Strother Martin, Lee Van Cleef, Woody Strode (as Pompey), Anna Lee, and John Qualen NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is a great two-page trade ad taken out of a Kinematograph Weekly English trade magazine (we have a number of them in this set of auctions, and also one-page English trade ads). Studios would run these elaborate 2-page ads in issues of this magazine, and they often had images not found on any of the regular movie posters (either English or U.S.). This 2-page trade ad was removed from a 1962 issue of this magazine, and it will look incredible displayed on the new owner's wall. The back of those two pages have text or ads for other movies from that time, and we have not pictured those back pages because the primary interest to bidders is the great two-page color ad, which measures 11" x 17". Condition: very good. The ad was removed from a magazine (see above). It was the centerfold of the magazine so the two pages are on a single sheet, and there are staple holes at the spine (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
