An Original 1979 (from the first release of this movie in Australia) Vintage Theatrical Folded Autographed Australian One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 40" [69 x 102 cm]) (Learn More) Ice Castles, the 1978 Donald Wrye figure skating ice skating sports romantic melodrama ("Together they reached for the impossible."; "If you love ice skating you'll love 'Ice Castles'"; "A motion picture for you coming this winter from Columbia Pictures"; "The exciting world of competitive ice skating fills the screen this winter at a theatre near you" ) starring Robby Benson, Colleen Dewhurst, Tom Skerritt, Jennifer Warren, David Huffman, and Lynn-Holly Johnson (billed as "Introducing Holly Johnson as Lexie"). Note that this movie was originally intended to feature a "name" actress in the lead role (and have some or most of her ice skating performed by a stunt double). But it became apparent that this would not work, so the producers found Lynn-Holly Johnson, who was performing in the Ice Capades, and she was hired. After this movie, she had an ice skating cameo in the James Bond movie "For Your Eyes Only", and since then, she has had several more movie and TV appearances. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has been personally autographed (signed) by Lynn-Holly Johnson! Our consignor is in the movie business and he obtained this autograph through his studio. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we are certain the signature is authentic. Also note that, while this poster was printed in Australia, it was specifically made to be used in New Zealand. This was not an uncommon practice and we have seen many examples. These posters often lack the printed rating which can be found on the Australian version of the poster. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
