An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (measures 11" x 17"; 12 pages). Also included is an ad supplement that has 8 pages (Learn More) The Red House, the 1947 Delmer Daves romantic love triangle crime film noir mystery thriller ("You dare not even guess the strange love story of 'The Red House'"; "What I cannot possess I'll destroy!"; "Of this man... and the girl who lived in 'The Red House'... people spoke only in whispers!"; "From the novel 'The Red House' by George Agnew Chamberlain"; about a really weird and creepy movie about a man with a wooden leg and his wife, and their niece, who they have raised since she was a baby; they live on a farm, but they have a mysterious red house that they never go to and keep people away from; the house contains the secret of what happened to their adopted daughter's parents and how she came to be in their care, and you will have to see the movie to learn what the secret is!) starring Edward G. Robinson, Lon McCallister, Judith Anderson, Rory Calhoun, Allene Roberts, Julie London, Ona Munson, and Harry Shannon. Note that this was 6th billed Julie London's first real role (as the adopted daughter) after several extremely minor bit parts, and the producers of the movie wisely had a large sexy image of her placed on the posters because as they say, "sex sells"! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Condition: fine. This pressbook is in excellent UNCUT condition! It is complete and uncut, which is unusual, since the purpose of pressbooks was for theaters to cut out one or more of the ads and use them in their local newspapers. In addition to being in excellent condition, it is important to note that it has also never been folded, which is very unusual, as almost all larger pressbooks were folded in half so that they could be more easily transported. I can't imagine a collector who would not be very happy owning this pressbook! Learn More about condition grades
