An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style A Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

Singapore, the 1947 John Brahm Southeast Asia tropical island romantic adventure film noir ("City without a conscience!"; "Smuggled pearls... stolen lips.."; "Crossroads of Intrigue!"; "Original Story by Seton I. Miller"; about a boat captain who was forced to flee Singapore in 1942, when the Japanese invaded, and he left behind valuable jewels and also had to abandon his beautiful girlfriend, and after the war ends, he returns there to try to find both!) starring Fred MacMurray, Ava Gardner, Roland Culver, Richard Haydn, Thomas Gomez, Spring Byington, Porter Hall, and Maylia. Of course, Singapore is the island country that has for centuries been home to many of the busiest ports in the world, which naturally attracts much crime and corruption.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that first release U.S. posters are comparatively rare for this title, but we have NEVER auctioned a half-sheet before this one! Also note that this poster has never been folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets).

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. There are a few faint creases and scuffs scattered in the image. There are creases and smudges around the edges, with some tiny tears in the borders (someone put conservation tape on the back of them). Someone lightly wrote some words in pencil near the middle of the bottom blank border.
