Hart silent World War I (WWI) outlaw cowboy western (based on a story by Howard E. Morton; produced by Thomas Ince; like all William Hart movies, this has a very complicated plot about a man whose parents die and he becomes an outlaw because his parents' ranch was repossessed; he rescues a young woman who unknowingly is working for German spies, and he doesn't know either and falls in love with her; the U.S. joins World War I, and he wants to enlist, but a German spy who also wants the girl tells the Army that he was an outlaw, and he goes into hiding; but he finds the German spies and exposes them, and the charges against him are dropped, and he goes off to fight in France in World War I, and he promises his girlfriend he will marry her when he gets back) starring William S. Hart, Wanda Hawley, Charles Arling, Erich von Ritzau, and Bert Sprottegsa. Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this card (like many 1918-1919 lobby cards) was printed on a very thin paper stock. This was an experiment done in late 1918 and 1919 only, and was abandoned soon after (likely theater owners complained that the thin paper lobby cards did not last nearly as long as those printed on heavy paper stock). Condition: very good. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back! Learn More about condition grades
