An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Hondo, the 1953 John Farrow 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) romantic Native American Indian cowboy western ("They called him 'Hondo'"; "First she was afraid he'd stay -- then she was afraid he wouldn't."; "Heat of the plains in his veins... the gunfighter's stain on his name, and now a woman's life in his hands!"; "Hot blooded with the heat of the plains that bred him, silent as gunsmoke, a stranger to all but the surly dog at this side..."; "... They called him 'Hondo'"; based on the novel by Louis L'Amour; a complicated story of a part Indian cowboy who kills a man and then feels obligated to help provide for that man's widow and child, and there is a Native American chief who is interested in the child, and much more happens!) starring John Wayne (in the title role as Hondo Lane), Geraldine Page (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; billed as "and introducing Geraldine Page"), Ward Bond, Michael Pate, James Arness, Rodolfo Acosta, Leo Gordon, and Lee Aaker NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was originally in 3-D. The studios created both 3D posters and 2D posters (the 2-D posters were for theaters that lacked the 3-D equipment). This glass slide is from the "3-D" release. Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the cardboard holder has staining around the staples, but the glass slide itself is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
