An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Movie Paper Banner (measures 24" x 82" [61 x 208 cm]) (Learn More) The Magnetic Monster, the 1953 Curt Siodmak science fiction (sci-fi) thriller ("Cosmic Frankenstein Terrorizes Earth!"; "This one man stands between the earth... And Doom!"; "The astounding story of the 'thing' that came alive!..."; "Already one whole city has been devoured... And still it grows, minute by minute, reaching out with countless invisible mouths to swallow the earth!"; "The thing that came alive!..."; "See terror sweep through the heart of a city in the dead of night"; "See it battle its deadliest enemy - the giant tetratron!"; "See the only men who dared to track the monster to its lair!"; "Only he dared face the terror of the monstrous 'thing' that suddenly came alive.. threatening to engulf the earth!" about a new radioactive element that creates matter out of energy and must be destroyed before it sends Earth out of orbit) starring Richard Carlson, King Donovan, Jean Byron, Jarma Lewis, Harry Ellerbe, Frank Gerstle, Donald Kerr, Byron Foulger, and William Benedict. Note that this movie bears real similarities to "The Blob", which came out five years later, in that there is a seemingly unstoppable monster that keeps growing and growing as it devours everything around it. But that movie was played for shock and laughs, whereas this movie was an attempt to be scientifically accurate, and by all accounts is an excellent movie that has simply become overlooked and forgotten over the years! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare paper banner. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster is very long, but because it is not very wide, it can be sent in a regular size tube. However, it can NOT be combined with other rolled posters, and must be either sent by itself (or combined with other items that are exactly like this). Please bear this in mind before bidding on this poster. Condition: good to very good. The poster has a number of creases and scuff marks scattered in various areas, pretty typical of paper banners of this time period. Overall the rare banner is in pretty nice condition (see our image). Learn More about condition grades
