An Unfolded Advertising Poster (measures 11 1/2" x 15 3/4" [29 x 40 cm]) (Learn More)

Screen Romances, one of the many movie magazines sold to the public. Each issue features a great full color cover of a leading star of the day, plus condensed short "novelizations" of a group of then-currently playing movies (one would be longer and run as a "complete novel"; this began with the May 1936 issue, when they expanded the magazine). Each of the novelizations has lots of sepia images taken from the movie, plus portraits of some of the stars. Note that early in 1939, Screen Romances drastically lowered their price from 25 cents to 10 cents, and also lowered the page count by about 20%. Also note that at some point in the 1940s, they slightly changed the magazine's title to "Screen Romances Stories", but we are not sure for how long, and it reverted back to "Screen Romances".
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster, which was printed on a heavyweight paper stock (which means it can't be rolled) was distributed to news stands to advertise the February 1932 issue of this magazine. It has been trimmed (but we don't know by how much) and it now measures 11 1/2" x 15 3/4" [29 x 40 cm].

Condition: fair to good. The poster has some trimming and paper loss around the edges, but we don't know how much, because we have never auctioned another example of this very rare advertising poster.
