An Original Vintage Studio Writers Book (measures 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" x 3 1/2") (Learn More)

Paramount is a entertainment production company from 1912 to the present. They are the fifth oldest surviving film studio in the world. Paramount Pictures dates its existence from the founding of the Famous Players Film Company by Adolph Zukor. That same year, Jesse L. Lasky opened his Lasky Feature Play Company, and both companies released their films through a start-up company called Paramount Pictures Corporation (and their first movies were "released through the Paramount Program"). In 1916, Zukor maneuvered a three-way merger of his Famous Players, the Lasky Company, and Paramount into the Famous Players-Lasky Corporation. The new corporation absorbed other firms (such as Artcraft in 1918) and eventually was simply known as Paramount Pictures. The early history of Paramount is fascinating and filled with backstabbing, and anyone interested will be greatly rewarded by reading about it!
Important Added Info: Note that although this says "Writers Book" on the cover, it is referred to on the inside as a "talent book". Studios started creating books like these in the 1920s! They originally contained phone numbers, resumes, and other information about all the employees of the studio, so that it would be all in one location. They were only given to studio chiefs or department heads, and there were numbered and were never intended to be seen outside of the studio. Over time, they started making more specialized talent books, one for writers, one for actors, directors, etc. This talent book is a "writers talent book" from Paramount and is from 1992, and it is "copy #6", which is printed large on every single interior page, so that if it would ever be copied or given out, the studio would know which copy of the book it was taken from!

Note that this item needs to be shipped in a box, which might be a fairly small box, or might be a very large box. What is important for the bidders to know is that this item likely CAN'T be combined with other purchases, because there would not be much savings if any, because this item will be in a box, while other purchases will be in a flat package, and trying to combine them would likely damage this item anyway. If you purchase multiple items like this (ones that need to be packed in a box), then they likely can be combined with each other (unless the resulting box is simply too large). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent separately in a box (the size of the box will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it.

Condition: very good to fine.
