An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More) Down to Earth, the 1947 Alexander Hall New York City Broadway romantic fantasy musical ("She Sings! She Dances! She Loves!"; "She's out of this world... In Technicolor!"; "They say she kissed 2000 men!"; "Songs by Allan Roberts and Doris Fisher"; "Magic enchantment that takes you out of this world..."; about the real life goddess Terpsichore coming down to Earth after seeing how she is portrayed in a Broadway musical!) starring Rita Hayworth, Larry Parks, Marc Platt, Roland Culver, James Gleason, Edward Everett Horton, Adele Jergens, George Macready, William Frawley, James Burke, and Virginia Hunter. Note that there is an oddity about the posters for this movie. They have a 1946 NSS number, and yet the movie was not released until August of 1947. Perhaps it was intended for a December 1946 release (to qualify for awards), but when the movie was not ready in time, it ended up getting pushed back until the following August. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: fair to good. The poster has tiny creases along the folds, with 1 1/2" of separation at the left end of the bottom fold, and 1" at the right end. It has some horizontal creases in the top of the poster above Hayworth's head, and a diagonal crease running across the middle of her gown. There are four pieces of yellowed tape in the top border and some creases and tiny tears in parts of the borders. Someone must have put a pen mark or marks on the center of Hayworth's mouth at top left, because someone else drew over that area and "restored" it, but it is not a perfect match (see our image). From any reasonable viewing distance, it is not very noticeable at all, but you can clearly see it when you look at it close up. The new owner of this poster might well choose to restore it, and at that time, a talented restorer could perform additional restoration to Hayworth's mouth at top left. Please look closely at our super-sized image before you place a bid on this cool poster. Learn More about condition grades
