An Original Vintage Australian Campaign Book (measures 9 3/4" x 12" [25 x 30 cm]; 24 pages) (Learn More) Universal 1938-39 Australian yearbook, featuring Universal news, movies, and stars from that era. The yearbook includes mostly sepia images of the major Universal stars at that time (including Deanna Durbin), and there is a two-page spread in the back for Universal "Super Serials", including Buck Rogers. Not only is this very rare, but we have never auctioned a U.S. Universal campaign book from this year! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this is the Australian campaign book for Universal Pictures for 1938-1939, and we auctioned it 18 years ago, and it has now been reconsigned to us, so it is still the only example of this campaign book we have ever auctioned! However, it was not published by itself (and we don't know that it ever was). Every page has "THE FILM WEEKLY - October 13, 1938" printed at the top, and there are page numbers that start with 11 and end with 34. So obviously, this Australian campaign book was a supplement in that issue of Film Weekly, and someone removed the first ten pages, and likely the last ten pages. If there is a "stand alone" version of this, we have never seen it, and we have also never auctioned a U.S. Universal campaign book from 1938-1939, so we don't know if that is the same as this!
