An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie 8 1/4" x 10" [21 x 25 cm] Key Book Still (Learn More) Frances Farmer was a legendary actress of the 1930s, partly for her great beauty and acting talent, and partly due to her great personal troubles, which resulted in her being institutionalized. A few years ago, I was informed by researcher Jeffrey Kauffman that the story of her being lobotomized is actually an urban legend! This myth was spread in a book and movie of Farmer's life, and it will be difficult to ever convince people that it is not true. In any event, Farmer was an extremely beautiful and talented actress, and original movie posters and lobby cards from her movies are highly sought after by collectors, but few are ever offered for sale! Some of her movies include: Come and Get It, Son of Fury: The Story of Benjamin Blake, The Toast of New York, Flowing Gold, and Rhythm on the Range AND Marsha Hunt is a a model, singer, and actress from the 1930s to the present. She started out as a teenage John Powers fashion model, she began singing as well, and she went to Hollywood in 1935, when she was 18 years old, and was signed with Paramount, but never became a top star, playing secondary roles in major movies and starring in secondary movies. She made 54 films through 1949, but in the 1950s, she and her husband Robert Presnell Jr. were caught up in the Blacklist (for her strong support of freedom of speech, and not for any communist activity), and that pretty much ended her film career. She makes occasional appearances, and was in a movie in 2008 at the age of 91! As of 2021, she is still alive at the age of 104! Important Added Info: Note that this still is a key book still, printed on a deluxe heavyweight paper stock. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic. Someone trimmed away the extra 1" from the left of the still. Condition: very good. The left 1" was neatly trimmed off (see above). Otherwise, the still is in nice condition!
