She was born Elaine Jacobs in New York City, but changed her name to Elaine Barrie after watching "Svengali" and falling in love with John Barrymore. Later, after finding out Barrymore was "sick" in a New York hospital, she wrote to him and asked for an interview. He granted her request and after "interviewing" him in the hospital for several days in a row, he was released and immediately moved in with her and her mother. Even though Elaine was 30 years younger than Barrymore, they got married but divorced only a short four years later after a stormy relationship (which included some earlier withdrawn divorce attempts, including one just two months after their wedding!). Her movies include: How to Take a Bath, How to Undress in Front of Your Husband, and Midnight. She passed away in 2003 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that these stills measure 8" x 11" [20 x 28 cm].
