An Original Vintage Folded Stage Play Poster (measures 28 1/2" x 42 1/4" [72 x 107 cm]) (Learn More) My Jack, the 1889 - 1890s stage play production (of the play by Benjamin Landeck). Note that we can find little info about this play. We know that it was performed in England before coming to the United States, and it toured from 1889 to at least 1894. If anyone knows more about this production, please e-mail us and we will post it here. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have seen two slightly different versions of this poster. The one we auctioned in 2016 has a yellow title and was printed by "The Strobridge" lithographing company, and this has a red title, a "Waleter Sanford's" yellow banner at upper left and it was printed by "The Donaldson" lithographing company. There amateur restoration also artistic differences. We believe that both posters date to the late 1890s, but if anyone knows more about them, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good. The poster has much light rippling and slight discoloration mainly in several areas of the lower half. The staining is very noticeable on back and in the blank borders, but not as noticeable in the artwork itself (see our image). It has creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths along parts of some edges and tears in the area of the art of the boat at center, and several tears (including those) are repaired with tape from the back. There are some snipe remnants along portions of the lower edge. Fortunately the artwork is mostly "all there" and retains its colors, and after proper restoration the poster will display well, but bear in mind the poster's condition and the cost of restoration before bidding on it.
