eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 4w829 REVENGE OF THE CREATURE pressbook '55 lots of 3-D ads & info about both releases! Date Sold 11/11/2012Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 12" x 18" [30 x 46 cm]; 10 pages). Also included is an ad supplement that has 6 pages. (Learn More) Revenge of the Creature, the 1955 Jack Arnold Universal monster Florida horror science fiction (sci-fi) 3-D (3D; 3-Dimension) sequel ("Terror is loose in the city!"; "Weird Monster escapes! Terror seizes city!"; "All New Thrills! Shock! Suspense!"; "Monster Escapes!"; "City flees in Terror!"; "Here at last! New thrill wonder 3-D Horrorscope!") starring John Agar, Lori Nelson, John Bromfield, Nester Paiva, Ricou Browning (who played the Gill Man underwater), Tom Hennesy (who played the Gill Man on land), Clint Eastwood (in his big screen [speaking] debut in a bit part as a lab assistant), Brett Halsey, and Flippy the Porpoise. Note that this movie was released in 3-D, but most first release U.S. posters don't bother to mention that (perhaps because the 3-D craze was dying down). NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was intended to be released in 3-D, and this pressbook has tons of information about both releases, and ads for both 3-D and 2-D releases (also shown are some great 3-D items that may or may not have ever been created, including really cool "composite 3-D effect stills"! Also note that the supplement included is for the double-bill release of this movie and "Cult of the Cobra", which shows 3-D ads for "Revenge of the Creature", showing that the double-bill release was planned even before this movie was released. Also note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Also note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook, and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Because this pressbook is folded, it will be sent in a standard flat package for our flat rate shipping cost. Condition: fair, WITH CUTS. There is a small ad cut from the last interior page, which affects the three-sheet image on the back cover. There is also another small ad cut from page 6. There is a 1" tear near the center of the bottom of each page, and most of those were repaired with clear tape. The pressbook was folded across the middle at one time. There are creases, tiny tears, and faint smudges around the edges of the pressbook. Learn More about condition grades
