Date Sold 9/11/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. a lot of 1 key book containing 68 key book stills from Public Pigeon Number One. This is a very rare find! You often see "key book" stills auctioned. Studios spent extra money to create these special photos, the key book stills, which were either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper. They had an extra 1" at the left or top, with punch holes, which allowed them to be kept in a bound "key book" (an actual hardcover book that had these stills bound in it). You might ask "Why do I never see an actual key book like this?". The reason is that many of them were thrown out, and the few that survive were almost all ripped apart by dealers and then the key book stills were sold individually (but they are still far more rare than regular stills). This is a very rare opportunity to acquire an actual key book from this movie! Of course, Public Pigeon Number One is the 1956 Norman Z. McLeod comedy ("C-A-R-A-Z-Y!"; "Watch out for: Public Pigeon No. 1"; "Q. What's black and white and red all over and makes you laugh like crazy? A. Red [The Terror] Skelton he'll send you up for a lifetime of laughs!"; "Wanted for Embezzlement, Impersonating a G-Man, and things like that there!") starring Red Skelton, Vivian Blaine ("She's Sensational"), Janet Blair, Jay C. Flippen, Allyn Joslyn, John Abbott, Benny Baker, and James Burke Measurements: 8 1/2" x 11"Condition: very good to fine. This key book has stains on the blank area of the spine below the title, where a snipe was once attached. In this case, the key book was created with stills that were mounted on a linen backing, and each has a snipe glued to the back of it (see our images of the cover of the book, the spine, and four interior spreads).
