An Original Vintage Folded Dutch World War II Poster (measures 30 3/4" x 43 1/4" [78 x 110 cm]) (Learn More)

Van Je Vrienden (literally translates to "From Your Friends"), the 1944 Dutch World War II (WWII) poster (with a tagline that translates to "From your friends, you have to have it!") created by the Nazi German-occupying forces to inform the Dutch people about bombs from their Allied "friends", and listing the cities that have been bombed in an effort to turn the Dutch against the Allies. This poster features art of several falling bombs, and we have seen examples with a blank area instead of text, presumably so the poster could be updated with different cities
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable collection of 14 posters that were printed in Holland during World War II while they were occupied by Nazi Germany. They are all propaganda posters designed to sway the Dutch people to support the Nazis and fear the Allies. These posters are surely incredibly rare (since any surviving ones would have likely been destroyed soon after Holland was liberated, and in addition, there were huge paper shortages at this time. We are auctioning the 14 posters in 14 separate auctions. This is an extremely rare opportunity to purchase one or more of these extremely rare posters, which likely should be displayed in museums. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The poster has some light water staining in the bottom blank border and some pretty minor fold and border wear.
