An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Devil's Harvest, the 1942 Ray Test marijuana marihuana pot weed grass drugs exploitation melodrama ("The truth about... marijuana drugs ...the smoke of Hell!"; a tale of the marijuana drug traffic among high school students!) starring June Doyle, John Clayton, Leo Anthony, Ben Barlow, and Ed Murray. Note that any posters or lobby cards from this movie are rare and very desired by collectors, especially because they all have the great tagline "The truth about... Marijuana The smoke of Hell!". Note that it is difficult to know if items from this movie are from the very first release in 1942, or from the many continuous releases of it over the next few years, when the movie had "roadshow" releases throughout America in little towns. We identify all the items as being from 1942, but the ones that are two color may be from soon after. If anyone knows more about any of this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this half-sheet, which has a completely different photo montage image! There are full color one-sheets and lobby cards that exist for this title that we believe are surely first release, and we think this poster is surely first release as well. We have never before auctioned a half-sheet or insert on this title, although we once auctioned a special 22x28 poster which seemed like it might have been created by a theater by trimming a 30x40 or 40x60 and rearranging the pieces, and that unusual poster sold for $542. This great half-sheet has a montage of image and the classic tagline "The truth about marijuana the smoke of Hell!" and it was display wonderfully on its new owner's wall! Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. The poster has tiny paper loss at the crossfold and some creases and tiny bits of surface paper loss on the horizontal fold with some pinholes, smudges and stains around the edges and some smudges and scuffs scattered in the image. None of the above is very distracting, and this incredibly rare poster can certainly be displayed as it is or one might choose to have restoration performed, but that will be a decision of the lucky new owner of this poster after the auction has ended!
