Note that there is something very unusual about this poster. We have previously auctioned two examples of this poster, and both of those had distributor logos in the bottom left and bottom right corners, and this one does not have those. Otherwise, they are virtually identical. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 22" x 30" Note that this item (and others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from the estate of Lee Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a nationally recognized projectionist, film poster collector, and union activist who passed away earlier this year, and the net proceeds from the sale of his varied and eclectic collection will be donated to promote film studies at the Besant School of Happy Valley in Ojai, Ca. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: fair to good. The poster was trimmed by approximately 1/2" on the left and approximately 3/4" on both the top and bottom. It had tack holes and stains around the edges and tiny paper loss and tears on parts of the foldlines. Overall, the poster was in fair to good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, but they are really not very distracting (and a talented restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
