An Original Vintage Little Orphan Annie Decoder Pin (measures 1 1/4" across) (Learn More) A 1935 Little Orphan Annie decoder pin with movable center ring that allows the user to decode secret messages sent from Annie during her weekly radio show! In the 1930s secret decoder rings were sometimes given away in boxes of cereal or snack foods but usually they were sent by a show's sponsor after receiving proof of purchase of their product. Many companies, like Ovaltine, sent out secret messages on radio shows to children and with the help of the decoder, kids could decode the messages (which were usually messages like "drink more Ovaltine"!). Condition: very good. Because the pin appears to be made from a copper material it has developed some areas of verdigris patina throughout (more so around the star at left and letters at lower center). Overall, the decoder is in nice condition and the circular ring still moves freely and the pin on the back is still intact! Learn More about condition grades
