An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian One-Panel (known in Italy as a "2 Fogli") Movie Poster (1p; measures 39 1/4" x 55" [100 x 140 cm]) (Learn More)

L'amico Intimo di Polidor (released in English-speaking countries as "Polidor's Intimate Friend"), the 1913 Polidor Italian silent comedy short starring Polidor (in the title role). Note that Polidor, the star of this movie, was born Ferdinand Guillaume, and he was a French-born Italian actor and director from the 1910s to the 1960s. He was very popular until the advent of sound (starring in over 300 silent movies, often mocking the bourgeoise and class distinction!), when he was relegated to non-starring roles. Famed Italian director Federico Fellini was a great fan of Polidor's early work and cast him in Le Notti di Cabiria, La Dolce Vita, and 8 1/2, and Pier Paolo Pasolini cast him in Accattone.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has unusual and high quality caricature artwork that is rarely seen on posters of this period (or posters of other periods, for that matter!).

Condition: very good to fine. The poster has slight darkening on parts of the folds, and some creases in the middle that were surely caused when it was machine folded. Otherwise, it is likely in as good condition as one could hope, given that it is over a century old!
