He is best remembered for his role as Sam Loomis in Alfred Hitchcock's "Psycho". Some of his other movies include: Spartacus, Imitation of Life, Thoroughly Modern Millie, Midnight Lace, and A Time to Love and a Time to Die. He passed away in 2018 at the age of 86. Important Added Info: Note that this letter has been personally autographed (signed) by John Gavin! Also note that this auction also includes the envelope this letter was originally mailed in! This signed letter is one of a group of signed letters that come from the collection of Fred Owesney. He was a dancer on Broadway in the 1950s, and he made friends with a number of celebrities, and he began corresponding with them and for many years, he would correspond with celebrities, often ones that he had seen perform in person. Our consignor does not have a "certificate of authenticity" for this or the other letters from this collection, but we believe it is extremely likely that the signatures on the letters are authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
