An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Special Poster (measures 27" x 38 1/2") (Learn More) Elizabeth Taylor was one of the most legendary actresses of all time! She started as a child actress in the 1940s, became a teen actress in the 1950s, and became a major star from the 1960s to the 1990s. Some of her movies include: Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf? (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), North and South, Cat On A Hot Tin Roof (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), A Place in the Sun, Giant, Jane Eyre, Father of the Bride, National Velvet, Suddenly, Last Summer (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Raintree County (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Butterfield 8 (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), and the "Lassie" films. Some consider her the most beautiful brunette actress of all time! She passed away in 2011 at the age of 79. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this special poster measures 27" x 38 1/2" and is linenbacked. Condition: very good. This poster was linenbacked, and one of the following is true: either the poster had very minor defects, and was well backed, OR it had more significant defects, but they were well restored, OR it had some minor defects that were not completely restored, and are somewhat noticeable. You can tell which of the above is the case for this particular poster by reading our "pre-restoration" description and also by looking at our "super-sized" image of the actual poster (we are the only major auction company we know of that gives accurate detailed pre-restoration information about linenbacked posters to our bidders, but we wish everyone did!). The poster was folded twice horizontally and once vertically. There were minor creases along the foldlines. There were some smudges in the background areas around the edges of the poster. The poster had missing pieces and tears in the blank borders, and the person who did the restoration put new blank white paper over all the borders to even out the appearance (but the small writing at the bottom of the poster was not covered over). This is a common technique used by several top restorers. It is done so well that the majority of collectors are not even aware it has been done, and many do not feel it to be a significant detraction (since it is only blank white area). Overall, the image area of the poster was in nice condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed, and it looks quite nice! Learn More about condition grades
