An Original Vintage 7" x 9" Publicity Still (Learn More) Joe Louis was a legendary black African American boxer from the 1930s to the 1950s. He was the world heavyweight boxing champion from 1937 to 1950, winning 26 championship fights during that time. He enlisted in the army at the start of 1942, and served all the way until 1945! He passed away in 1981 at the age of 66. Important Added Info: Note that on this still there is a printed paper snipe attached to the back describing the scene on the front (it tells about a charity football game between Hollywood comedians and leading men, and that "Sgt. Joe Louis is on furlough"). Also note that this still measures 7" x 9". Please do not bid on this still thinking it is 8" x 10". Condition: good. Learn More about condition grades
