An Original Vintage Linenbacked Stage Play Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 38 3/4" [70 x 98 cm]) (Learn More)

The Sins of Hollywood, the 1922 stage play production ("by W.C. Herman"; "A Dramatic Thunderbolt"; "Laying bare the inner lives of the movie stars and the truth about Hollywood"; "...Not a motion picture..."; "'Does this gun belong to you?'"). We know from newspaper ads we located that this played in 1922 in various cities including Detroit, and that it contained a "carefully selected cast", but we could not find out anything more, except that it was apparently like a "Hollywood Babylon" of its day! If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. The poster had tears and small areas of paper loss on all the folds, with some tears and paper loss around the edges. It appears that part of the bottom border was likely neatly trimmed off. Overall, the poster was in fair condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was well backed given the extensive defects that it had, and it displays surprisingly well, but you can definitely see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
