An Original Vintage Photographic Transparency (measures 4" x 5" [10 x 13 cm]) (Learn More) Perry Mason, the 1957 - 1966 Erle Stanley Gardner courtroom legal lawyer attorney mystery crime melodrama television (TV) series starring Raymond Burr (in the title role as Perry Mason), Barbara Hale (as Della Street), William Hopper (as Paul Drake), Ray Collins, and William Talman. Note that Raymond Burr had been "typecast" as a heavy in 1950s movies prior to appearing on this TV show (his most notable performance was in "Rear Window"). Burr thought that his weight might be a factor in that, and he went on a massive diet prior to trying out for this show, and he lost around 100 pounds, and that did the trick, and he was cast as Perry Mason, which was the turning point in his career! Important Added Info: The coloring of the transparency has changed over the years, and our consignor prepared a "color corrected" version (through PhotoShop), and we have an image of the transparency as it appears alongside the color corrected version, but of course, the auction is for a single transparency. Note that this is the CAMERA ORIGINAL transparency that was in the camera when the photographer shot this transparency! This transparency has a sticker on the plastic sleeve that has the stars' names and title of the series. We took a picture of the transparency in the sleeve so that bidders can see that sticker (if it matters to them). We also made a scan of the transparency without the sleeve, because that is higher quality (so there are two images, but of course, the winning bidder gets the single transparency in the sleeve). This is a very special auction of 444 extremely rare negatives and transparencies of various sizes. EVERY single one in this auction is either "studio issued" (meaning it was created by the studio and sent to theaters and movie outlets), OR it is a "camera original" (meaning it was the actual negative that was in the camera when the photographer took the picture). Every auction clearly identifies which they are, and there are no items being auctioned that are not either "studio issue" or "camera originals". We have divided them by type and size. Also note that every one of these 444 auctions have had their transparencies and/or negatives scanned expertly. This auction contains that scan with the "eMoviePoster.com" watermark over it. ONLY the winner of this auction will, on request, be sent UNWATERMARKED scan(s) of the items in this auction, which will both save them the time and expense of scanning them themselves, and also allow them to make high quality positive prints of the items they purchased. Condition: good to very good. The color of the transparency has changed from how it originally was, but otherwise, it is in nice condition.
