An Original Vintage Billboard Advertising Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Budweiser is a pale lager beer that was introduced in 1876 by Adolphus Busch. Adolphus Busch moved from Germany to the United States in 1857 and settled in St. Louis, where he established a brewing supply house. He later married Lilly Anheuser whose father, Eberhard Anheuser, owned a small brewery. In 1864, Busch partnered with his father in-law to form what would eventually become the Anheuser-Busch Company. After researching brewing techniques in Europe, Busch created Budweiser and it has become one of the highest selling beers in the United States and is available world-wide (sometimes as simply Bud due to a European trademark dispute). In addition to the regular Budweiser, Anheuser-Busch brews several different beers under the Budweiser brand, including Bud Light, Bud Ice and Budweiser 66 (in the UK) If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This billboard poster was tri-folded only (which means there is one less vertical machine fold than usual). This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with billboards folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded billboards need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 16" x 38", so they cost more to send than regularly folded billboards, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses. This billboard poster was printed in 8 sections. Condition: good. The poster is printed in 8 sections, rather than in the usual 12, but each section is larger, so that the overall measurement is roughly the same as a typical 24-sheet. Many of the sections of the poster have light smudges and stains, much more so along the foldlines, and there are many creases and tears on the folds, and there is separation on several foldlines. It would be very difficult to display this poster "as is" (but of course, it could be linenbacked, and, if the smudges and water staining can be removed through chemical means, the poster will have little paint restoration, and in any event, the poster will look great after linenbacking!).
