Simpson), and Cyd Charisse (unnamed, only referred to as "Dancer"). Note that this greatest of all Hollywood musicals had an odd beginning! The title song had been sung in "The Hollywood Revue of 1929" by Cliff Edwards, and that inspired this movie, and in addition, the song "Make 'Em Laugh" was basically plagiarized from "Be a Clown", from "The Pirate"!
