An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) Star Spangled Rhythm, the 1943 George Marshall World War II (WWII) patriotic all-star musical comedy ("The Screen Musical Comedy That Has Everything and Everybody!"; "Musical comedy with the greatest galaxy of stars ever gathered together in one picture"; "Original Screen Play by Harry Tugend") starring most of Paramount's contract players at that time, including Bing Crosby, Bob Hope, Fred MacMurray, Franchot Tone, Ray Milland, Victor Moore, Dorothy Lamour, Paulette Goddard, Vera Zorina, Mary Martin, Dick Powell, Betty Hutton, Eddie Bracken, Veronica Lake, Alan Ladd, Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson ( billed as "Rochester"), William Bendix, Jerry Colonna, Macdonald Carey, Walter Abel, Susan Hayward, Marjorie Reynolds, Betty Rhodes, Dona Drake, Lynne Overman, Gary Crosby, Johnnie Johnston, Gil Lamb, Cass Daley, Ernest Truex, Katherine Dunham, Arthur Treacher, Walter Catlett, Sterling Holloway, Golden Gate Quartet, Walter Dare Wahl and Company, Cecil B. DeMille, Preston Sturges, Ralph Murphy, Dolores Ann Sagendorf, and Marion Martin NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this movie was an all-star patriotic movie assembled by Paramount Pictures at the height of World War II. This particular lobby card shows a wonderful image of Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson wearing a zoot suit and cool white hat, and standing at the intersection of 137th Street and 7th Avenue in Harlem in New York City, and he is flanked by two black soldiers in uniform, and around a dozen black men and women dressed really nicely! There is a folding sign on the sidewalk beside them that has the classic James Montgomery Flagg Uncle Sam "I want YOU" image with the words "U.S. ARMY ENLIST NOW"! Condition: fair to good. There are many pinholes, creases, and stains around the edges of the card and there is paper loss in the bottom left blank corner. There are light blue paint stains in the left half of the bottom border, and small paint stains in the top right of the Uncle Sam sign (in the background). Certainly, this card has significant flaws, but the images of the stars are mostly unaffected, and a talented restorer could paperback this card, and after proper restoration, the card will look great, and there will be little restoration within the images of the people in the card!
