An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Invisible Ray, the 1920 Harry A. Pollard silent science fiction (sci-fi) thriller serial ("The most astounding serial ever filmed."; "15 thrilling episodes"; about a miner who discovers a "ray" with extraordinary powers, and a group of scientists come together to use it for a major criminal scheme) starring Ruth Clifford, Jack Sherrill, Sidney Bracey, Edwards Davis, and Corene Uzzell. Note that this movie is a "lost" film, which is very sad, because it certainly qualifies as one of the earliest true science fiction movies! We don't know if the "ray" was like a laser beam or X-rays, but it certainly sounds interesting, and very little can be found about it on the Internet, other than the cast and credits. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
