An Original Vintage Autographed Membership Application Card (measures 4" x 5" [10 x 13 cm]) (Learn More)

Ed Sullivan was a television host from the 1940s to the 1970s. He is best remembered for hosting the long running musical variety television (TV) series "The Ed Sullivan Show" from 1949 to 1971 (everybody who was anybody appeared on his show, including the greatest stars of the time, but he also had an odd fondness for Chinese acrobats, a talking mouse puppet named Topo Gigio, and the world's greatest ventriloquist Senor Wences appeared many times), but for many years before that, he wrote an influential newspaper gossip column called "The Talk of the Town". He memorably played himself in "Bye Bye Birdie". Sullivan passed away in 1974 at the age of 73.
Important Added Info: Note that this membership application card has been personally autographed (signed) by Ed Sullivan (since he signed his name in three places, it is signed three times [one says "Edward V. Sullivan"])! Our consignor is a longtime collector and dealer. In the 1970s and 1980s, he wrote to stars and asked for autographed photos and index cards, and he also sometimes purchased signed items from other dealers. He does not have a certificate of authenticity for this item, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic.

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.

Condition: very good to fine.
