Note that Visconti made this movie 11 years after Ossessione and 9 years before The Leopard, but it is much less remembered than those two classic movies! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Renato Fratni Important Added Info: Note that this is a "country of origin" poster for this Italian movie! Also note that this Italian one-sheet measures 27 1/2" x 39 1/4" [70 x 100 cm]. Note that country of origin posters for this movie are incredibly rare! This is the very first Italian poster of any kind we have had from this movie! Note that this item (and others we are auctioning in this set of auctions) come to us from the estate of Lee Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a nationally recognized projectionist, film poster collector, and union activist who passed away earlier this year, and the net proceeds from the sale of his varied and eclectic collection will be donated to promote film studies at the Besant School of Happy Valley in Ojai, Ca. Note that it is difficult to accurately date Italian posters, and some unmarked re-release posters can be extremely difficult to distinguish from first releases, so please bear that in mind before you place a bid. We used our best information to date this poster, but we can't always guarantee that the Italian posters we sell are not from an unmarked re-release, but this will only prove to be true in a very tiny number of cases. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and minor wear on the foldlines. It had pinholes, tiny tears, and some tiny bits of paper loss in parts of the blank borders. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was nicely backed, and displays well! Learn More about condition grades
