An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) My Dear Miss Aldrich, the 1937 George B. Seitz newspaper journalism romantic comedy ("The Season's Gayest Love Story!"; "Original story and screen play by Herman J. Mankiewicz"; about an unmarried beautiful young schoolteacher who inherits a newspaper, and she goes to it together with her aunt, and she is shocked by the chauvinist attitudes of the employees, and she becomes a reporter on her own newspaper to show them that women can do the job just as well as men) starring Edna May Oliver, Maureen O'Sullivan (in the title role as Martha Aldrich), Walter Pidgeon, Rita Johnson, and Janet Beecher NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and extra creases, small tears, and scuffs on parts of the foldlines. It had some pinholes and paper loss around the edges. It had some smudges and dot stains scattered on parts of the white background areas. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that the restorer left a tiny bit of excess linen around all four sides of the poster (they left a small border in order to protect the poster from handling damage, but they did not leave a larger border, to allow it to more easily fit in a frame).
