An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Australian Daybill Movie Poster (db; measures 13 1/2" x 30" [34 x 76 cm]) (Learn More) Scott of the Antarctic, the 1948 (released in the U.S. in 1949) Charles Frend English explorer action adventure docudrama ("The noblest adventure man ever dared!"; "A truly great motion picture!"; "Never-to-be-forgotten adventure to the edge of the Earth with..."; "The Royal Command Film"; about British explorer Robert Falcon Scott's last expedition to the South Pole) starring John Mills (in the title role as Robert Falcon Scott), Derek Bond, Harold Warrender, James Robertson Justice, Reginald Beckwith, and Diana Churchill NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Artist: Frank Tyler Important Added Info: Note that this poster was used by The Orpheum theater in Sydney, Australia that originally opened in 1935! The theater featured art deco design, two levels and seating for 1735. The theater was sold in the 1970s and converted into a shopping center. Luckily, in 1986, it was lovingly restored and re-opened as the Hayden Orpheum! Condition: good. There is a theater snipe glued across the top of the poster that adds approximately 4" to the overall height of the poster (the poster was not trimmed and the snipe could surely be removed by a professional restorer, or talented amateur, if one chose to do so). There is tattering, staining, and small paper loss around the edges of the poster and there are some creases throughout. Learn More about condition grades
